Registration Keys and Updates

Why don't my keys work?

First, make sure you enter your details exactly as supplied in our email to you. All the details are case-sensitive.
If your existing keys don't work, you need new keys to use the new version. Click the 'Upgrade...' button. You will need your existing key to qualify for the upgrade price.

About the 30-Day Trial Version...

ChartMaker will run for 30 days or until registered. If you have not registered the copy, you will be prompted to continue with the trial or enter your keys at the start of each session as soon as you use ChartMaker in a script. After 30 days you will be prompted to enter your keys to activate the program. If your keys do not work, see 'Why don't my keys work?' above.

About Registration...

Each copy of ChartMaker has to be registered individually because ChartMaker can be distributed in a standalone (remember that only a registered copy of ChartMaker will work in a standalone or an error is returned). If your keys do not work, see 'Why don't my keys work?' above.

About Updates...

ChartMaker and ChartMaker Utility automatically check if an update is available when first opened and thereafter once a month.

If an update is available, the link in both components changes from 'Check for updates...' to 'Update available...' and the icon changes from orange to green. There is no dialog after an automatic check, just the change to the link.

You can also click 'Check for updates...' at any time to run a manual check. If the program is up to date, you will be given the option to contact us if you have a problem. If a new version is available, you will be given the option to ignore it, download it, or see what's new.

Maintenance release updates are free and your existing key will work. If your key does not work, it is an upgrade release and you will need a new key. You do not have to upgrade; the choice is entirely yours.
